More about the Mississippi Test Site

It has been over 40 years but look out-I am coming to see you again.

I wanted to show everyone more pictures of the now Stennis Test Site in Gulfport, Mississippi. Our Systems Test Engineering Team monitored so many tests there. The tests were of the S-IC Stage of the Saturn V. There were 4 stages but we worked on the first. I am so proud of that stage and its engines. They never failed and thus never failed our astronauts. Because of the 1st stage the Saturn V was given such a kick in the as* that it left our atmosphere in about 2 Minutes and 30 seconds and reached 38 miles in altitude (out of earth's atmosphere).

There are now more than 2 test stands and I read that they are being retooled to accomodate the new space vehicle, the Ares. I wish them all the success in the world.
