A Look at Part of the Apollo Project

This project ran from 1963 until 1974. Contractors were sited all over the U.S. About 15 stages were built but not all were used. The main areas of design and construction were: Houston, New Orleans (Michoud), Mississippi (the MTS-The Mississippi Test Site), Huntsville (Marshall Space Flight Center) and last but not least-Cape Canaveral. Oops, I almost forgot Sacramento, CA. The number of contractors was mind-boggling. Some were Boeing, Chrysler, Rocketdyne and I can't remember the others right now. Hey, its been over 40 years. I can't remember everyone :o). What is interesting is that so many contractors were sited all over the place and scattered. I do know that the Command Module's Instrument Panel was made in St. Petersburg, FL. but that company has changed hands so often that I don't know which one built it.
